Rwanda: dance with pygmies in Ruhengeri

I am so happy I got to meet the oldest surviving population of the Great Lakes region in Rwanda: the Batwa (Twa) tribe. Unfortunately, about 30% of this tribe was killed during the Rwandan genocide of 1994.

The experience is rather unique with this tribe which average height is about 150cm. Contribute to their development with a visit and they will reward you with traditional dances, you can connect and jump in with them.

A visit to the indigenous pygmies of Central Africa is not be to be missed! learn more about this tribe here
