Norway: check out the beautiful Arctic Cathedral in Tromso


Meet the Arctic Cathedral ! This 1965 structure is a landmark of TromsΓΈ, capital of the Arctic!? ?? It was designed by the Architect Jan Inge Hovig, and it is a Parish church.
It is not to be confused with the Tromso Cathedral ! The Arctic Cathedral is located in the Tromsdalen Valley, which is a urban neighborhood of the City.

That was my last trip just before the pandemic started (march 2019). It’s an interesting structure with aluminium panels on the roof.

I didn’t go inside though, there was an entrance fee. I have issues paying to enter a religious establishment, I feel not everyone is able to contribute in the same way, and out of principle, religious places should not have a price tag.? It seems to be open to the public on Sunday afternoons, though, so maybe you can get to check out the inside then, and the organ and glass mosaic.
