Georgia: celebrate profound Friendship in the Caucasus mountains…

As you are driving in the Caucasus mountains in Northern Georgia, the last thing you expect is to suddenly see a round concrete structure full of colors, looking over the mountains.

This structure is a monument for friendship between Russia and Georgia, that was designed by the architect Giorgi and was elevated in 1983 for the friendship between the 2 countries, and to commemorate the bicentennial of the Treaty of Georgievsk (1783). It was built on top of the…. Devil’s Valley.

The paintings inside the monument represent scenes of Russian and Georgian history.

It is located between Gudauri and Gergeti on the Georgian Military Highway.
